Pleased with 1st bivy experience
The BD Bipod Bivy is my first bivy sack, making my perspective somewhat limited. First night out I learned that it is fairly easy to set-up (forcing the shoulder poles in was a little difficult), the large "door" makes getting in and out easier than expected, overall quality of materials and construction seems very good (only time will tell), and it kept out a small amount of direct rain and quite a bit of splashing (I was set up under a moderate size tarp and had heavy rain all night).
Comfort was decent. Temps were warm enough to use only the netting which provided plenty of ventilation. Not being used to a bivy, I found there to be barely enough shoulder room (I am a side sleeper and felt borderline constricted). My only real comfort "complaint" is with the lack of vertical area around the feet. If you are a back sleeper, I am not sure how/where you will comfortably point your toes.
Overall, I think this is a good bag and that I will be very pleased with it. My rating of "good" vs "excellent" is really more a result of having used it only one time.
