"Awesome Jacket ... so far!"
Quality of product is excellent and Size S fit is true for me (5'11", 155 lbs, 38 Chest and 33 Arm length). Jacket has been great through some moderate winter wear (-12 to -5 C) in the mountains and the alpine fit works well with multiple base and mid layers. As expected from an alpine jacket, you can reach, especially upwards, without the body of the jacket riding up through a harness. The hood is not a gimmick - it fits and moves with your head better than any jacket I've worn.

The true test of the jacket will be durability over several seasons that include more extreme conditions. If the jacket survives well, then it will also be a good value.

I personally don't need the sleeve pocket and would like a little bit more zipper length in the cross over hand pockets (makes it easier to stuff bulky gloves in them).

Yes, I would recommend this product.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the Alpha SV, right?
I've tried jackets left and right, but this one really takes the cake, and then some.

Just a few more elaborations, while I'm at it, though:

-The athletic fit of the updated model works so well for me. Being 6' 2.5" tall and but weighing only 150 lbs, I don't fare well with roomy clothing, specifically outerwear. So, with my lanky frame, I can multiple layer with a size small (which I own) and stay toasty and still look stylish, which is a bonus.
-I've had the chance to wear the jacket out in a mini-blizzard, and I must say, the jacket certainly breathes much better than the last model's. Moisture isn't given much time to build-up, at least from what I've experienced.
-Haven't really put the jacket through a durability test, but I will take their word for it that the gore-tex on this one, in spite of it being slightly lighter and thinner, is "tougher" than their last model's. (I know some people who've been politely complaining that they personally prefer the gore-tex on the older model, but I suppose each to his own. I live in the Seattle area, which rarely sees brutal weather, and being not an avid skiier or mountain climber or any other wonderful-outdoorsy-activity person, I feel like this jacket was tailored for me.)
-Made in Beautiful Canada.

-Can't think of any at the moment. :)

Yes, I would recommend this product.
